LABOR DISPUTES.
London, Dec 7.
The Shipping Federation declare that they will continue to engage crews on board their ships until the free laborers are treated fairly, and the usual method of engagement at offices of the Companies will be abandoned.
Numbers of dockers are deserting the union.
The sailors have struck work, but the dockers disapprove of their action. Dec. 8. The trouble with the Firemen’s Union is fizzling out.
The stevedores have refused to strike.
Melbourne, Dee 8. The strike of slaughtermen is ended. The Unionists find that nearly all ;heir places have been filled up 4
