Sib, —ln your report of Mr Buxton’s meeting held at Winchester on Saturday last it is stated that I seconded a vote of thanks to Mr Buxton and attempted to speak, but was not allowed"to do so. Sir, allow me to say that the above report is positively untrue. Evidently you have obtained your information from a very unreliable source. I moved a vote of thanks and confidence in Mr Buxton and spoke to the motion, and was listened to attentively while I gave my reasons for doing so.
