ACCIDENTS, FATALITIES, ETC.
Wellington, Nov. 14. When the barque Lutterworth was off Cape Palliser, on Tuesday, during a gale, an apprentice named Hngh Curtis was washed off the forecastle. A head boy was thrown to him, but ho was unable to grasp it. Dunedin, Nov. 14. The body of John Bailey has been discovered at Island Block, Roxburgh. Invercargill, Nov. 14. This morning John Brown, one of the partners in a flax mill beyond Mataura, while showing a new man bow to feed the scutcher, allowed his own hand to be drawn in. His arm was lacerated to above the elbow. The place was a long way from a medical man, and although Dr Stackwell attended as soon as possible, Brown died in the train from loss of blood and shock. He was a young man, and his relatives live in Strath Taieri,
