STANLEY’S CHARGES.
London, Nov. 14. The Times, this morning, publishes the affidavit of Assou Farm, who was interpreter to the Stanley expedition in Africa. In this ghastly details of Major Barttelot’s cruelty are given, and the charge against Jameson is reiterated. Nov. 15. Mr Jameson’s letter, published by his widow, shows that cannibalism was not practised by him, but was caused by an imprudent gift of calico to natives, The Times states that the letter strikes the heaviest blow at Mr Jameson’s reputation. Nbw York, Nov. 18. Stanley delivered a lecture here last night, but tha speaker was inaudible, owing to the constant interruptions. He was understood to say that other startling disclosures would shortly follow.
