Beans and Peas—2s 61 for the former ; 2a 3d to 2* 4d for the latter. OHRISTOHUROH STOCK MARKETS.

At the Addmgton Yards on Wednesday there was a good attendance of buyers. Store Sheep—i»ver 2000 store sneep were offered consisting principally of crossbred ewei and lambH which sold as follows :—S-horn from 8* to 9i 41. in wool from 15s to 15s 61 ; 2-tor>th m-xed fetched 10* 61, «nd a nice line of crossbred hoggets 13* ; merino wethers in the wool gold at 10s 4d to 10i 51 Fat Lambs—The fat lamb sales were a* brisk as any section of the market, good lambe being in active demand at prices up to lis Bd, the general average being from 8s to 10s. About 700 yarded and a.l sold. Fat Sheep—ln fat sheep, ne »rly 8000 wera offered, of which the bulk were shorn, only a few lines of crossbred 2toothß and some back country merinos being offered in the woo'. There was an active demand for good sorts for freezng, and as the butchers required to renew their stocks which had fallen, there was a uniform tendency to maintain fully as high prices as-before. Some very prime wethers brought up to 17a Id to 17s 9d, while mixed crossbreds averaged from 133 to 15s 6d. Cattle—There was a very heavy entry of fat cattle, comprising 189 head, many of which came from Southland. Aa the season advance beef becomes less enquired for, and the re*ult showed a very pronounced drop on recent prices. Best beef sold up to 21s per 1001 b, but that was for the primest. Ox beef Bold at £lO ss, £9 15s etc , but there jtas little else sold at more lhao 19a to 20a per 1001 b, and a great many of those enteied had to be passed for want of buyers. In store cattle there was a moderate entry of odd lots of farmers' stores but very little business

was done. Pigs—There was a small entry, which oonsisted chiefly of porkers.

DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETB. The following is the report for the week ending Wednesday : Wheat—Market unaltered. Best tnscan and velvet, 3s 9i to 3* lOd ; other good milling sorts, 8s 6d to 3s Bd. Fowls' whaat, in fair d-mnnd. Good whole, 3s to 3a 3d ; second and inferior, 2s 6d to Barley Few ir.quims. Malting, nominally, 2s 8d to 2* 10d ; milling, 2s 3d to 2s 6d ; feed, la 9d to 2i ; peail barley, £l3 to £l6. Oats—Bent millicg at la 3d to Is 4d ; bright plump feed, Is 2&1 to Is 3£d ; off color, Is to Is Id. Flour— Timaru and Oamaru ro'ler, £lO here; £lolss for 50's ; towa and southern, £9 ss;iso's, £9 15s. Oatmeal, £8 to £8 10a. Bran—£2 10a. Sharps, £3 10?. Potatoes —Good old derwents, scarce at £3 5s to £4 ; new kidneys, 2d per lb. Pigs—2£d to 3£d, as per quality ; hams and bacom 7d to 86, and 5d to 6d. Chaff—3ss to 42a 6^. •Jnions—£l2 to £l4.

Straw—Oaten and wheaten, 3(K Butter—Beat salt, nominally, 6d to 7d ; fresh plentiful, Egjr a —Scarce, Honey, 41 to sc. Cheese, Factory, 4d ; Akarou, 6 1 to 3£l. JStvr Hot yet to band. Grass Seed— Ryegrass, 3a to 5i 6d ; cocksfoot, 4d to sd.

Sheepskins—On Tuesday butchers' green orossbreds, beat, brought 83 to 6* 31 ; wood to medium and inferior, 6a to 4s 6d , green merinos, 5a 8d to3< 4d ; green pelts, Is 41 to 8d ; lambskins, 1b 4d to Is; country dry crossbreds, infariorto medium, Is 8i to 3s 9 1 ; do do merino, Is 7d to 3a 8d ; full-mouihec 1 crossbred!*, 5i 3d to 7a 9d ; do do merino, 4s 9d to 6* 6d ; dry pelts, 3d to Is 6d each. Hides Prime haavj ox are scarce, and command up to 3d per lb; medium, 21 to 2£d;. light, l£d to l|d ; inferior and damaged, ljd. Tallow —±sest rendered mutton, 20s to 2lapercwt; medium, 17s to 18s ; inferior to mixed, 14s to 161 ; mutton caul, 14s; rough fat, lis to 12s ; inferior, 10a to 10s 6d. Prime lots are in request. DUNBDIN STOCK MARKETS. At the Burnside Yards on Wednesday the following business was transacted : Fat Cattle—269 head yarded, all good to prime quality, some few pens extra heavy weights. Bidding was not brisk, «nd towards the end of the sale prices ■hawed a drop of froii 20a to 30a per head

on late rales. Best bullocks sold up to £9, medium £5 10s to £7. best cows £6 to £7, and a few extra prime Herefords up to £9, light weights £3 to £5. Fat Sheep—lsl4 crossbreda yarded, about two-thirds beu g inferior quality, and th« balance good, with a few pens of extra heavy sheep. Bidding was not brisk, and prices suffered a decline of about Is per head. Extra heavy crossbred wethers in the wool brought from 20s ro 23s ; do, 18a to 19s ; medium do, 13s to 19*. Best ewes, 15s 6d to 17s 3d ; medium, 12s to 15*.

Lambs—l 72 were penned, all good quality, and sold from 8a 6d to 12s 6d. Pigs—lso yarded. There was a fair demand for stores, but baconers and porkers were neglected. Suckers brought from 7s 61 to 14<t, slips 12s 6d to 15s, stores 16s 6d to 21a, porkers 23s to 275, baconerc 32» to 355. The quantify of wheat and flour afloat for the Uni'ed Kingdom is 2,012,000 quarters and for the Continent 668,000 quarters. The estimated American visible supply is 22,088,000 bushels. Union Steamship Company's shares, £l3 ; New Z wl*nd Shipping Company's £4 10s ; Shaw Savill and Co's, £lO. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have rfceived the following cable message from London, dated 11th inst. : Wheat h'pot market is firm; c.i.f. market is weaker.
