BICYCLES.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —Will you kindly oblige me by inserting this letter in your paper, and if you could inform me and the public if Government have legalised bicycle riding on public roads when horses and vehicles are passing. It is far easier for a bicycle rider to get off for a minute or two than endanger the lives of several peeple, as country horses will not stand such things passing them. I write this to show the danger forty buggies and traps loaded with men, women, and children were in on Sunday, 2nd ins* ' ftß fcwo wanton young ~; n comi i g f rom Qe '*Luuie, riding bicycles, went dashing past the funeral cortege when going to Geraldine. As the vehicles were all in a line, not the space of a yard being between, anyone can see the danger we all stoed in. It was by the greatest luck that baggies were not capsized, Some of the authorities might say to summons them, but there are a deal of such fellows not worth the cost of a summons. If I had been on the road at the time I should have bad one of them off with the first thing I get hold of, so as to make it a caution to bicycle riders.—l am, etc., Geraldine.
