Meeting at Temuka. — A meeting to form « branch of the Peop'e’a Political Association will be held in the Social Hall this evening. Wesleyan Church, Temuka. —The Rev. R. S. Bunn will conduct the morning and evening services in the above church tomorrow, and will preach at Waitohi in the afternoon.
Pfblig S&AIKJHJER Yards.— The society for the prey ention of cruelty to animals passed a resolution at Christohureh yester? day in favor of public slaughter yards, as tending to diminish cruelty.

The factory (in common with many other local industries) has had rather a hard time of it, having just emerged from liquidation. The directors of the lata company having t .ken over the factory and l*nd, have decided to give the industry a further trial, and we trust that under the new management their pluck and perseverance will meet with merited success. To ensure success an abundant supply of milk is essential, and we hope that the fanners of the district will see to this and not allow an industry of such importance to become a thine of the past.
