Mr Sheehy, MrP;, hag been committed, at- Tipperary, to prison fora for contempt of Court. Both Mr Balfour, speaking at Dublin, and Mr Gladstone at Edinburgh, said the Irish question blocked every interest in Parliament, and it would be a calamity to postponelits consideration. Oct. 22.
Mr Gladstone, in his address at Edinburgh, denounced the shadowing of members at Tipperary, and the absence of Mr Balfonr from Ireland.
In his speech at Edinburgh Mr Gladstone declared tl-st the Government were the greatest lawbreakers in Irelanddenounced witljolding of loeAl government frbm Ireland, and,-f»id that the resistance of the people fob hateful law was justified. To grant Homeftule would gild the closing years of the glorious reign of Queen Victoni; A summons igainst Mr Qarrjgoq for takieg part jq the rjqt at Tipperary, has been withdrawn. Counsel for the defence have applied for a summons calling on Mr Balfour to produce the official report of the speeches of defendant, aqd to point out the portions oq which a con-, victioq is soqght to he ohtalqed.
