RIFLE SHOOTING.
A friendly sheeting match between teams from the Geraldine Rifles and Timaru Ifavals was fired at the Geraldine range on Thursday afternoon. The weather was perfect for shooting. The Navals, under the command of Lieutenant Qooeh, arrived by road. The conditions of the match were ten men a side, 200 and 800 yards, seven shots at each range. The following are the scores GERALDINE RIFLES.
218 146 3Q4 The match thus resulted in a win for the home team by 24 points. After the match the team repaired to the Bush Hotel, and sat down to a capital dinner served in host Kyne’s best style. The visitors left for home shortly after ten o’clock.
