AN APPALING DISASTER !

THE RECENT CYCLONE IN AMERICA AND ITS AWFUL RESULTS. ITS OEIGTN SCIENTIMOAI/LT ACCOUNTED POB, AND SOME REMOTE CAUSES THAT PRODUCE PAINPUI EPPB«TS EXPLAINED. The recent cyclone in America, which left the Ohio Valley a scene of desolation, destroying hundreds of Ipges and thonands of pounds worth of properly, has again called the attention of scientists to these awful phenomena of nature. Whatever the cause is it must certainly be Bought far away from the whirling body of wind its*lf. Its results are powerful ; its cause must also be powerful. Let us, therefore, consider a few facts. The appearance of a cyclone is invariably preceded by dark spots on the face of the sub. These spots indicating a disturbed condition of the solir system, necessarily affect the atmosphere of our earth. Any unusual generation of heat always creates a vacuum. Ahmust rushin to fill the vacuum. Hence the disturbance which results in the cyclone. This theory finds additional confirmation in the fact that cyclones always occur during the day and not at night. The dark spots upon the surface of the snn, whatever they may be, cause great commotion in the atmosphere of the world. The cause is remote, but the effect is here. This rule finds its application in nearly every department of life. The telegraph operator is in Paris, yet the click of the instrument manipulated by hie fingers is heard in London, An uneasiness and disgust with everything in life, commonly called home-sicknees, is felt by many people, when the causa to be found in the distant home hundreds of miles away. An uncertain pain may be fait in the head, it is repeated in other puts of the body. The appetite departs »cd all energy is gone. ’ la the cause neoßsaarly to be found in the head ? The next day the feeling increases. There are tdded symptoms. They continue and he-: come nwe aggravated. The alight pains iu the head increase to agonies. The causer becomes The heart

' arrows irregular, and .the breathing uncertain. All these effects have a definite cause, and in nine cases out of ten will be found to exist in a deranged condition of the kidneys and liver, far away from , hat portion of the body in which tl'e effects appear. But one may say, “I have no pain whatever in my kidneys and iver 1” Very true, fs either have we any evidence, of a cyclone on the surface of the aun; but it. is certain tbat the cyclone is here. So it is with these great organs of the body ; they are the real cause of the painful effects mother parts ot the body, I'lhough there be no pain experienced in the organs themselves. Exactly this condition of affairs was the experience of Mr John Randle, of Port W»kefie’d, South Australia, whose suffering maybe imagined from the symptoms described, which were hemorrhage, palpitation of the heart, throbbing pains in the head, paralysis of the blabber, and growing Weakness, ending in fainting, all of which indicated disease of the kidneys and urinary organs. Under date, July 17th, 1889, be wutes:— During my illness I obtained medical advice, but instead of benefiting tbeiefrom I gradually grew worse and weaker, until finally I was confined to bed and despaired of recovery, a commenced to take Warner’s safe cure on August 13th, with the happy result that on the Sib September, a period of only twenty-one days, I was enabled to attend to my business. From that time the improvement, although gradual, was continuous and decided, the fluids becoming natural, and the tone of the system, which had fallen very low from loss of blood end exhaustion, steadily rising, until normal strength was regained, Whi'st fully recognising the goodness of Almighty God in nay restoiation to health and strength, I gladly bear testimony to Warner's safe cure as being the means or agent of my recovery. You ate at full liberty to use this if yon choose.
