CRICKET.
A well attended meeting was held in a room in Mr Dann’s chemist shop, Temuka, last evening for the purpose of forming a cricket club in Temuka. Mr Cathro presided. It was decided to form a club to be called the Temuka Cricket Club, Mr A. E. G. Rhodes was appointed president, Mr Bryars captain, Mr E, Brown deputy-captain, Mr E. C. Dann secretary and treasurer, and Messrs Herbert, Buxton and Goldstone a committee,in addition to the captain and deputy-captain. Messrs Bryars, Brown and Herbert were appointed a match committee* It was decided to procure the necessary outfit, and to hold the opening match, Married v. Single, next Thursday at 230 pm. It was also decided that no one would be allowed to enjoy the privileges of membership until his subscription was paid. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays were selected as days for playing cricket, and after passing a vote of thanks to the chairman the meeting terminated.
