TEMUKA DAIRY FACTORY.

An extraordinary general meeting of the shareholders of the above company was held at the Wallingford Hotel last night. There were about 20 shareholders present. Mr Job Brown, chairman of directors, presided, and explained that the meeting had been called to confirm the resolution passed at a previous meeting to wind up the affairs of the company voluntarily. Replying to a shareholder the chairman stated that if all the cheese on hand could he realised at a satisfactory figure the company would show a deficit of some £I6OO.

Mr Storey asked if the directors would take over the premises aud plant at a'satisfactory figure. Dr Hayes said that was the unfortunate position of the directors who were guaranteeing the bank overdraft. They would willingly give place to any other shareholders who cared to take their responsibility. The chairman further said that if liquidators were appointed any body of men could be dealt with. It did not necessarily follow that the directors would take over the concern.

After some discussion Dr J. 8. Hayes moved—“ That the resolution that the Temuka Butter Cheese and Bacon Curing Factory, Limited, be wound up voluntarily, be confirmed.” The resolution was carried.

Mr Quinn moved—" That Messrs Job Brown and W. G-. Aspmall be appointed liquidators.” * The motion was seconded by Mr Metson and carried.

It was agreed that the remuneration to the liquidators be £lO. Dr Hayes suggested that the liquidators make the best possible arrangements for carrying on the works for the next twelve months. Mr Matthews moved “ That it be a suggestion to the liquidators to endeavour to realise the assets of the company as against the liabilities.” Seconded by Mr Story and carried. The customary vote to the chair brought the meeting to a close.
