GERALDINE TOWN BOARD.
An adjourned meeting of this board was held on Friday evening last. Present —Messrs W. S. Maslin (chairman), A. White, A: Sherratt, J. Williams, N. Dunlop, and J. Mundell. WATER BICE. The board’s solicitors forwarded a copy of a letter received from Mr J. Studholme, by his Geraldine agents, Messrs H B. Webster and Co , agreeing to the suggested arrangement for the water-race running through his land, provided he was allowed to connect a deadhead with the race by a 2-in. pipe. The chairman stated that after seeing some of the members be had agreed to the offer. The action of the chairman was approved of, and a cheque for £ls, purchase money of the land, passed for payment. CROSSING!. An application by Mr W. M. Campbell for a crossing was granted. FINANCIAL. The finances stood as follows; Current account, credit, £94 4s lOd. Rents due to date, £2115s 9d. One account of 17s 4d was passed for payment. LEASING RESERVES. Tenders for leasing the board’s reserves for a period of seven years were dealt with as follows; Section 285: J. W. Pye, 7s 6d per annum (accepted). Section 237; G. Ward, 12s per anmim (accepted); M. Connolly, 6s. Section 271: J. Turner, 10s per annum (accepted). Section 187: J. Turner, 12s per annum (accepted) ; R. Hammond, 8s 9d. Section 191: J. Turner, 12s per annum (accented) ; J. Aitken, lls 6d. Section‘2l4: G. Ward, 12s per annum (accepted). Section 217 : G. Ward, 8s per annum (accepted), Section 310: G. Ward, 5s per annum (accepted). Section 296: G. Ward, 10a per annum (accepted), TOTES OF THANKS. A vote of thanks was accorded to the overseer and to the clerk for the manner in which they had performed heir duties since taking office. A vote of thanks was also accorded to the chairman for the able manner in which he had filled the position of chairman during his term of office. The meeting then terminated. DOMAIN BOARD. A meeting of the Domain Board was then held, the same members being present. Tenders for leasing part reserve No. 2716 for a period of three years were received as follows: —M. Connolly, £3 per annum j W. S. Maslin, £5 10s; J. Mundell, £7 (accepted). A cheque for £ls on account of loan was passed for payment and the meeting terminated.
