At Colombo, on her way home, a rather serious accident happened to the Carthage, which will cost the F. and 0. Company a considerable sum of money—it is said £IO,OOO. By Some oyersight the lower ports of the Carthage were left open, and the water poured into the vessel where the passengers' luggage and valuables were stowed, doing a great deal of injury. The accident, it is needless to say, occasioned a greal deal of annoyance to all concerned.
