"■ TEML'KA SCHOOL V. WINCHESTER SCHOOL. The return match between these two teams was played in Winchester on -Saturday, and resulted in a draw, ■:*" neither aide being able to score. Play began at 2 o'clock, a fair number of spectators, and among them not a few "V" ladies, witnessed the match. The visitors were captained by P. McCaskill, and the home team by J. Stewart; The Winchester boys, ? though much lighter than their an-; showed far more science in dribbling. The passing among the backs en both sides was good. T. Feriton, the Temuka centre threequarter, kicked well, and .also passed often to Lee and Tangney. These two, however, mulled the ball very badly, but now and then made good runs. M. McLeod played-well at full back for Temuka, his clean picking up and sure kicking being of great service to his side. > Of the lemuka forwards Black and McCaskill were most pro- . minent. For Winchester'J. Stewart, at full back, played sure,, though at times his kicking was a little faulty. J. Moore, at three-quarter, ran strong ; at times, while A. Shallard and.A. i Mills, also three-quarter, kicked sple'n- • didly. Of the Winchester forwards, J. t'opping, Gh Stewart, J. Hart, and R. Justin played well, Austin being .especially conspicuous in. taking . the ball from the line ouV The game was a friendly one. Mr :iT. Anderson umpired for 'lemuka and Mr H- E. . Smith for Winchester, while Mr T. Hart carried out the duties of referee.

Imbler, at half-back, showed much T Hart acted as referee, each giving general satisfaction.

Kroon and H. Rodgers, An express will leave for Timaru at 1.30 p.m. Any of the above who cannot play are requested to let the secretary know as early as possible.
