CHRISTCHURCH, CORN EXCHANGE.

The following is the Corn Exchange report (per N. P. Meyers, Secretary), for’ the week ending Friday, July 25th: — Wheat —Tuscan, 3s 3d; pearl, 3s 3s to 3s Id; hunters, 2s lid to Bs. Oats (nominally), Is 7d for milling, and Is 5d to Is ;6d for short heavy feed; others, Is 3d to Is 4d according to quality. _ Barley Prime,, malting, 3s 3d ; feed, Is 6d to Is 9d. Beans—-2s 5d to 2s 6d. p eas —Hand threshed blue boilers, 3s 3d; feed, 2s 4d to 2s 6d. Ryegrass—Machine dressed, 4s 9d to five shillings. Cocksfoot For heavy seed, up to 16lbs, 4Jd can be obtained ; light sorts, to 3£d. Potatoes —Derwents, 42s 6d to. 45s at country stations. The above quotations are those paid to farmers for delivery, f.0.b., Lyttelton, sacks extra, potatoes excepted.

ENGLISH MARKETS

London, July 27.

The English wheat market shows a general advance of 6d per quarter. The Continental and American markets are also undergoing a general advance.

At a tallow auction to-day 1725 casks were offered and 1100 sold. Medium mutton realised 25s ; do beef, 24s 6d. The highest point of recovery at the recent series of wool sales brings prices back to the level of those obtained at the close of the previous sales. For Australian wheat, off coast, sellers ask 38s 6d. while buyers are only willing to give SSs; for New Zealand ditto, 375. _______
