AUCTIONEERS’ REPORT. TIMAEU. Messrs Gracie, Maclean and Ci>.: report for the past fortnight, as follows; — Horses—At the Tito am Hdrse Bazaar, our entries have been fairly good as to numbers, but so far as quality is concerned those offering in all classes, with few exceptions, afS not beyond medium: 'I bis is to some extent due to 'farmers being busily engaged ploughing, and only surplus stock being disposed of by them. On the '2lst inst, we entered 21 head, and to-day 25. On each occasion we sold almost one-half\ and quote medium draughts at from £ls to £2l, inferior and aged £8 10s to £l2, light horses, medium to good, £Bto-£ls, weedy £3 to £6. At the annual sale of horses held at the Washdyke yards on the 17th inst., about 140 were entered for sale. There was a large attendance of farmers and speculators, and good useful draughts met with keen competition ; inferior, were slow of sale. Our entry comprised 78 head, of which we sold 34 head at up to £l9 ,10s for medium draughts and £l4 10s for backs'; Sheep—Since we last reported there has been a brisk demand for largeframed well forward sheep of either sex for finishing off on turnips, aqd : at present we have buyers for such. Washdyke we sold 44 ewes and wethers at 12s, 52 ewes at 6s 6d, 188 merino ewes at 4s 3d, 38 fat ewes at lls 9d, 52 ewes at 7s 2d, 34 ewes at lls, 50 merino wethers at 6s 3d, and privately 1680 2-tooth and breeding ewes. Cattle—We have again to report a very limited trade in fat and stores. Of the former there are but few in the district, and of the latter no buyers for the few offering. We sold several cows at from 30s to £3 10s, and privately 32 head prime fat bullocks and heifers. Pigs—Tery few offering. Weaners sold at 6s to Bs, slips 9s to 12s 6d. Skins—At our sale on the 18th iflist. prices realised were highly satisfactory to sellers. Best butchers’ crossbreds sold at 4s 6d, 4a Bd, 4a 10d, 5s 7d, merinos up to 3s 2d, country crossbreds (best) 3s to 4s 6d, medium 2a 2a 9d, 1 bale crossbreds at 6|d per lb. Privately we disposed of 800 factory skins.

Messrs William Collins, and Co., report a good attendance at the corn exchange and auction held by them on Saturday. The entries were numerous and competition keen for all lines submitted. The following are, the prices obtained : —Derwent potatoes ,48s per ton ; kidneys are beginning to be enquired for. Broken fowl wheat 7s to 7s 9d per sack, whole from tops and bottoms of stacks 2s sid per bushel, oats 5s per sack, pigs ss, 7s 6d, 10s, 12s 6d each, pork 2fd per 2001 b. carcases, smaller do per lb. DUNEDIN PRODUCE MARKETS. The following was held oyer from our last issue : Sheepskins—Presh pelted crossbreds were in best request. Green merinos sold at 2s Id to 3s 9d ; do crossbreds, 2s lid to 4s 9d ; dry do, Is 6d to 3s ; do merinos, Is Id to 4s 8d ; lambskins, Is 8d to 3s 4d ; pelts, 3d to lid ; skins in bales, to s£d per lb. Hides —Selected best, 2f d to 3d per lb ; average weights, 2d to 2f d per lb ; medium and inferior weights, Id to If d per lb; calfskins, 2f d to 3£d ; green ox hides. 7s to 18s; green cow hides, 4s 6d to 12s 6d. Tallow—Prime rendered, £lB to £l9 10s per ton; medium, £l6 to £l7 10s per ton ; inferior £l2 to £ls per ton ; rough fat, £lO to £l3 10s per ton. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, June 26. At the wool sales to-day prices were unchanged. The market is dull except for sorts suitable for American manufacturers, whose demand is improving. Wool is brisker owing to purchases for the American market. Bank of New Zealand shares have risen 10s. June 27New Zealand 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 105; 3£ per cents, 95f. South J ustraliau wheat, 38s, market restricted; Victorian, 345, quiet; New Zealand long berried wheat, 365, steady.
