NEWFOUNDLAND FISHERIES.
St, Johns, June 6. Th& Newfoundland press is furious at what is termed the French invasion under the very guns of the British war ships. In answer to a question Sir J. Pergusson said (hat the Governor of Newfoundland denied that men had been landed from the French warships. The French commander was justified in the demands he made. London, June?. In the House of Commons, Sir James Pergusson stated that England was not indisposed to aibilrato on the Newfoundland difficulty, if a basis of reference was possible.
