Bructo Hilton, A memo, from the Department notified the following changes in the classification of teachers since last December ; W. Brown D 3, Alex. Bell D 4, J. W. ; Byers E 4, J. Gillespie E 4, *F. L, Hill E 4, K. Meredith E 4, -*A. L. Mcllroy E 4, *L. M. Rowley E 4, *H. G. Wake E 4, *M. Emmett license, F. Hawke district license. REQUIREMENTS. In answer to a circular from' the department an estimate of the board’s requirements under the head of buildings, of about £6ooo—(£sß9o) —had been sent. This included repairs everywhere, painting 25 schools and supplying a residence to every school needing one, GERALDINE. The architect reported that the contractors for the Geraldine buildings were making good progress, the roof now being coyered. ARUNDEL, Mr Pearpoint l reported on his visit of inquiry to Arundel (Upper Rangiteta bridge). He fonnd that there were 43 children over and 26 under school age there, only 9 of were going to any school, the distances being too great. Two or three of those goiog to school go seven miles three times a week. He had previously, opposed the erection of"a school there ihinkiilg that it would rob other schools. He-found, however, that this would not be the case, and he was surprised to see -how the pla'ca bad gone ahead' during: the last six 'months, and people->wera still coming there. The committee had a Tetter from the board promising a school if tbe committee would give £ls and cart the material, and the committee would do this.
