Railway Fbbights. -At a general meeting of the Industrial Association of Christchurch to consider the railway tariff, it was unanimously resolved —“ That in the opinion or this meeting the railways should be so administered as to assist producers and the industries of the colony to a much greater degree than at present, and that with this view the tariff thould be simplified and very lar'o concessions made on the carriage of the natural and industrial products of the colony, espeoia'ly those coming from or going to districts at a distance from a port. That this meeting is of opinion that the policy of cheap railway fares and freights would assist in settling the country, increase its produo s, and stimulate industries, also that the indirect benefit of such a policy would compensate for any loss of railway revenue which might be entailed.” NOTICE. IN thanking the people of Temuka and district for past favors, 1 wish to inform them I have resolved to LOWER THE PRICKS OP ALL REPAIRS to such prices that will defy competition. mylO J. H.
