LABOR DISPUTES.
London, May. 12. The tailors on strike, are resolute though suffering distress. Some of the masters have conceded the men's demands. The railway men held ,a demonstration in Hyde Park. They demand 54 hours per week and higher-wages. Mr Burns quoted the example- of iTictoria. A tramway strike is imminent. Mr Burns will organise and men. Brisbane, May 12. Pending a meeting of pasioralisfs on the 15th instant the British and India Steamship Company have decided not to ship wool shorn by non-union men, TbeNew Zealand Seamen's Union and the Melbourne Trades and Labor Council have promised to support the union shearers. Dunedin, May 13. The owners of the Shag Point mine have given notice to the miners out on strike that they must leave their houses by the 15th instant. The houses belong to the mine owners. The Maritime Council at present sitting in Wellington his considered the question of placing all labor organisations in New Zealand under one control. The question has been referred to the Trades and Labor Association.
