LABOR DISPUTES.
Paris, May 9. The French Government suggest that international action should be taken to suppress the Anarchists. Twenty thousand of the strikers at Roubaix have resumed work. Brisbane, May 9, There is a very general feeling of consternation throughout the colony at the possibilities of the strike. Trade for the past three months hits been very bad, A Conference will be held on Monday between the Labor Federation and the squatters, when it is to he hoped an amicable arrangement will be come to. May 10. Speaking at a banquet at Rockhampton the Premier said it was a serious outlook for the colony with certain agitators going about sowing seeds of dissension between employers and employes, If a contest were to come he thought it would be better if it came rapidly, as a disease of that sort could bo better met in its first stages than when fully developed. Wellington, May 9. The Trades and Labor Council have decided to afford all possible assistance to the Christchurch Typographical Society in their dispute between Messrs Whitcombe and Tombs and their employes. The ironmongers’ assistants have intimated their employers that they will not work with non-union then after the 15th inst.
