LABOR DISPUTES.
London, May 7. The dockers to block the Queensland wool ships if the colonial unions will engage to supply money in the event of a general strike. Mr Burns declines to discuss the eight hours question with Mr Bradlaugh except in Hyde Park, Berlin, May 8. The Social Democrats have introduced a Bill in the Reichstag limiting the hours of labor per day to ten, New York, May 7. The carpenters in New York and other cities have obtained eight bonrs a day, Brisbane, May 7. Strong support is being offered the union shearers by other trade organisations and the matter is assuming large dimensions. It is. estimated that the shearers’ dispute will involve fifty thousand men. The federated unions are insisting that the British. India. Company shall load and unload vessels at Townsville with onion labor. - May 8. The Amalgamated Shearers’ Union will guard the New South Wales and South Australian borders, with a view of preventing shearers from those colonies joining the non-union men, and are arranging for a mounted patrol of 500 men.
