DRYING-UP RIVERS.
TO THE EDITOK, Sie,—l happened to be passing Winchester to-day, and noticed that on account of the long-continued dry weather our rivers and creeks are fast drying up, and the trout dying by the hundred. I wonder where our rangers are? Perhaps they receive their maney for doing nothing. Could they not go and remove the trout to the adjoining river, or some of them ? ae I fear if something is not done we will be minus of all our sport, and what has cost the country a large sum of money. lam afraid I will have to call in the Peacemaker, of Eangitata, to put things straight.--I am, etc., Pbo Bono Publico, Temuka, 80th April, 1890.
