The English wheat market is heavy and inactive- The Continental is inclined to buoyancy, and the American is advancing. Forward business in Australian shipments shows an advance in values. For New Zealand cargoes on passage sellers ask 355; buyers offer 34s 6J. Adelaide wheat is quoted at 395, with restricted business; Victorian at 38s, nominal Tallow shows a rise of 6d per cwt. At the wool auctions 159,000 bales were catalogued, of which 140,000 were sold. No. Scotch pig iron, f.o.b. in Clyde, 44s 9d. Sugar, 12s 3d. April 28. Wheat is Is dearer.
