The late Mrs Robert Campbell bequeathed £5000; to the Dunedin Hoßpital. Mr John Butterworth, the wellknown eoft goods merchant of Dun©dm, died rather suddenly last Saturday. The Invercargill schools, which have been closed since Easter, owing to the existence of various ailments, will reopen on Monday. Diphtheria is still prevalent. Green, Cummings, and Meek, the survivors of the wreck Emilie, are doing well in the Invercargill hospital. Meek is worse than the others, and probably will not be able to use his feet for a month or nix weeks. If Green and Cummings are sufficiently recovered a nautical inquiry will be held on Wednesday.
