A. man named James Hunter alias Stacey, was received into the Dunedin hospital on "Friday night in a very weak condition from loss of blood, and is now in a very critical condition. The man was found in his house covered with blood, and a woman (Mary MoNaught) with whom he was living, stated that when Hunter came home he brought a man with him, and the two got quarrelling, Hunter being struck on the head with a bottle. When she was making this statement Hunter managed to gasp out that it was the woman McNaught who struck him. Hunter has a deep wound on the left side of the head above the ear about inch in length, and is unconscious.
