The Tainui, from Lyttelton, took ten boxes of gold valued at £26,032. Her mail included 10,362 letters. Murray, the Maori who escaped from gaol some months ago and created much excitement at the time, died in Lyttelton gaol on Thursday morning. At the inquest it was shown lhat the deceased caught a cold some time ago, which turned to consumption.
