THE WEATHER IN AUSTRALIA.
Brisbane, March 31. The loss of property at Card well was enormous. Only a few houses are left standing, the cyclone having either wholly or partially destroyed the rest. Marting is enveloped by a body of water, and it is believed the darn has burst in the hills. The inhabitants have been rescued. At Texas all the principal buildings were washed away, and a man named G-rayen drowned. April 1, Owing to. ravages by storm and flood out west, a famine among settlers is threatened. Sydney, March 31. Owing to. the recent heavy rains the town of Yetman, situated on the banks of the river Mclntyre and 433 miles north of Sydney, is submerged, Mrs Sehultze and a boy have been drowned. April 1. Four thousand out of a flock of ten thousand sheep have been drowned at Yetman. All the residents of this town removed to a sandy ridge, where they were forced to remain three days.
