THE LABOR TROUBLES.
London, March 24. The Medway bargemen threaten that if the strike is not settled by April Ist they will withdraw the bargemen below Tilbury. This will involve 20,000 men. The Firemen's Union threaten to block the Liverpool trade if blacklegs supersede the m«n who are out on strike, The masters have promised to grant the demands of the Newcastle engineers in May, and tbe strike is at an end. A strike of 40,000 East End tailors is imminent. The strike is the result of failure to obtain relief from the report of the Sweating Commission. Fearful distress is anticipated. March 25. Tbe Yorkshire colliers have not al. together resumed work, pending conoessions to the banksmen. Christohuhch, March 25. Ihe differenoo between the Typographical Association and Messrs Whitoombe oad Tombs is not yet settled, and the Association intend to bring the matter before the Trades and Labor Council.
