Mr Varley delivered an address in which he protes'ed against the denominiticual system of the Churches, an 3 pleaded Jor Christian uni'y. Wedbisq Presentation. —At the Wesleyan Church, Temuka, yesterday, the Rev. R. S. Bunn united in the bonds of matrimony Mr Edward S. Smith, of Temuka, well known in athletic circles, to Miss M. A. Hopkinson. This being the first celebration of a wedding in the new building tha happy pair were presented with a handsome Bible in which the trustees of tha church had inscribed their signatures.

The .New Electoral Districts.—The rearrangement of the electoral districts has not given unqualified satisfaction. Tub Shooting Season.—The Geraldine County Acclimatisation Society, in common with kindred societies of the Middle Island, is urgiog the Colonial Secrelary to have the shooting season open on the Ist April, instead of Isg May. It is agreed on all sides that unless this is done there will be indiscriminate poaching. The Lake Ellesmere farmers declare that they will euffar severe loss by the iaroids of ducko upon their pea crops if the opening of the seasoa is deferred.
Wesluyan Church, Temctka. _ On Sunday next harvest thanksgiving services will be held in this church, the R ay . R. S. Bunn, pastor of the church, officiating. 1c may be mentioned that the choir, under Mr Harrison, have been diligently practising the anthems for some time, and the musical portion of the services should be more than usually good.
