PRIMITIVE METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL, GERALDINE.
The anniversary services in connection with the above Sunday School were conducted on Sunday last by the Iter. W. B. Martin, of Timarn. The church "was profusely decorated with ti-tree, fl»x, evergreens, wreaths, &c., and presented a very pieasing appearupce. The children ware arranged on u raised platform on the right hand side of the pulpit. The morn- ~ ing was floe, but the heavy rain which J commenced falling sooa after twelve, and ? continued through the remainder of the day, somewhat marred the success of tho day. There was a good attendance at the morning service, when the rev. gentlema-i preached an impressive sermon from text, "Feed my lambs."—John xxi., In the evening Mr Martin took for his text the words " Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in Heaven that one of these little ones should perish." Matthew xviii., 14. There was a good congregation despite the heavy rain. In the afternoon the won during the year by the scholars were distributed by Mr Martio, who also addressed them on the text, "lam the way."—John xiv., 6. The prizes were awarded on the marks obtained by the children during the year. A prise was given for each threj children in a class, thus a class of s ; x would get two prizes, a class of nine three prizes, and po on. Sherratt 2, Chas. Grindell 3, Infant Class—Teachers, Misses Fruid and Hiskena ; Sam. Major 1, .Robt. Sutherland 2, Robt. Newport 3, Alex. Quin 4. Ench child in the fifth and infant classes also received a small bock or card. GIRLS. First ola<B—Teacher, Miss Andrews : Gerty Fyfe 1, Mary Stonehousa and Alice Jones, < qual, 2. Second Class—Teacher, Mrs Hiskens ; Fanny «ibson t.nd Ellen Bowkett, equal, I, Emily Mas'in 2.
Third Class Teacher, Mrs Logan : Jane Fyfe 1, Annie Bowfcett and Sarah Buwkett, equal, 2, Maggie Scroggie 3, Fourth Class—Teacher, Miss Eakett: Louisa Howard J, Fanny Jones 2, Gerly Ward 3, Mary Biliing;s 4. Fifth Class—Teicliar, Mrs Kennington : Mmilda Bi'lingß J, Sarah Feun 2, Emily Fenn 3.
Sixth Class—Teacher, Miss Prouting : Annie M«jjr 1, L'zzie Berry 2, Eilen Grindelt 3, Annn Hammond 4. Each child iu the fifth and sixth cliBS also received a cad or book.
