ENGLISH MARKETS.
London, March 16. iTallow—Mutton, 24s ; beef, 22s 6d. The wheat market is r dull. Continental is steady; American advancing. New Zealand wheat on the passage, 34s 3d. March 17. A trial shipment of potatoes by the Orient realised 40s per ton; onions, 84s to 88s. The Sydney cheese by the Yaletfca was spoilt by the heat and' realised only 18s per cwt. ■ Melbourne vegetable marrows and 1 onions arrived in excellent condition. The condition of the carrots was fair, but the potatoes packed in hay and paper were rotten. Those packed in earth arrived sound. ! ' ; An Australian wheat cargo, of March-April.shipment, has been sold at 34s 7d. ; The total yield of the English wheat crop in 1889 was 69,000,000 quarters.
