Napiee, March 18. Dr McLeod, who recently commenced practice here, was to-day arrested on a charge of bigamy. The case was not gone into, and bail was accepted. CaEiSTcnuECH, March 18. Yesterday a man named Madden, working on the barque Harold, in Lyttelton, fell into the hold and sustained such injuries that he died this morning. Wanganui, March 17. A young man named Edward Johnston, employed by G. Flyger, clothier, is missing. He was last seen at 7 a.m- His hat was since found in the river, and fears are entertained that he is drowned. He had been in a depressed state of mind lately. Westpoet, March 17, Patrick Connor, who was injured by a dynamite explosion at Cape Eoulwind, died in the hospital on Saturday night. J
Patrick Flanagan, an elderly man, was arrested at Waimangaroa on a charge of attempted rape on a girl eleven years old.
