Lifk on Sunday Island.—lt must be a queer sort of life the Sunday Islanders are following. These self-exiled people from Napier and Auckland have founded a sort of early Christian colony, having, we presume, everything in common, Tiieir excuse for going to the Kermadecs was that they found the pressure of life too much for them in New Zealand. Apparently they did not care for hard work. They have on Sunday Island a softer climate, and less need for labor. The life they are leading seems to be a kind of civ'liscd savagery, largely infused with re'igious exercises and musical gatherings
