THE LABOR TROUBLES.
London, March 5
The masters yielded to the demand of the cement workers, and the latter have resumed work.
The American Unions have decided to hold a demonstration on May Ist in favor of compulsory eight hours labor, and the Unions of Great Britain, Europe, and America celebrate May Ist as the annual labor day. Twenty-bight colliery owners have offered their books for inspection to prove that a concession of 10 per cent, is impossible. The workmen, however, declined, and the prospects of a compromise are poor.
