Sydney, Teh. ,25. The Government statist estimates the wheat crop of tHe colony at 6,460,000 bushels, giving an average of 15.86 bushels per aero. The average of the paist 28 years is 12.88 bushels. Alter making allowance for seed he estimates that 1,486,00 ft bushels will have to be imported for local requirements. ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Feb. 23. Tallow: —Medium mutton, 23s 6d - best beef, 22s 6d. The English wheat market is dull!; Continental is. changing a little for the worse ; American is advancing. JNew Zealand, wheat on passage' averages 33s 9d. I Feb. 25. ; The wool sales have closed. Merino, good scoured, is Id, inferior Id to l£d, good greasy and inferior greasy Id cheaper than closing rates of 'the December sales. and crossbreds are unchanged.' . 1
