Sm, In year capacity as editor of a newspaper may I hope that you will recognise the right of the general public to be made acquainted with any subject that will be for their own benefit and protection ? That to which I allude is the exposure of a fraud now being perpetrated on behalf of a Life Insurance Company. I have not the slightest intention of throwing mud at the company, feeling confident that the agent is not acting on their instructions in misleading the public bor the protection of the public, and also the Australian Mutual Provident oociety for which lam not aware u that there is anyone travelling in this district but myself—l request all proponents to examine earefnllv their prospectus and proposal form, and if they are under the supposition that they are members of the Australian Mutual Provident Society to examine their first receipt and see if they are not

entered into an institution with a name that, however nearly it may resemble the Australian Mutual Provident, has no connection with it whatever, and has been established not half the time of the former; and I shall feel it my duty to point out to such people that have been so misled the legal steps necessary to take to enforce a return of their money.—X am, etc., Fkank D.
