ENGLISH MARKETS. London, Feb. 8. At the wool sales merinos generally realised from sto per cent, below December prices, Shart faulty showed most decline. Lambs, crossbreds, were firm at December rates, foreign buyers taking 60 per cent. Leather is slightly firmer. Basils are steady. Hides, 3£d to 3fd. The English wheat market is firmer. The Continental is steady, and the American changing a little for the worse. Tallow—Medium mutton, 23s 6d ; do beef, 225. Feb. 10. Wool is unchanged, and competition is still good.
The National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand, Limited, have received the following cable from their London office, dated 7th inst:
New Zealand wheat average value per 4961 bis 84s. Canterbury mutton per lb. Beans 34s per 5041 b.
