ENGLAND AND PORTUGAL.
Lisbon, Feb. 8. Senlior Martinez D'Autons will interview Lord Salisbury with a view of arranging for a European Conference to discuss the dispute between England and Portugal as regards the Zambesi. It is asserted that tho English Prime Minister is yielding to tho advice of the Great Powers, and will probably acquiesce in the proposal to bold a Conference. London, Feb. 8. Spasmodic outrages are being committed on English residents Bt Lisbon and Oporto. The Republican press there exaggerate the vaporing in view of the elections.
It is reported that the Portuguese still continue the system of terrorising the residents in the disputed East African districts,
It is reported that Lord Salisbury is making preparations for the immediate occupation of Makola'.a country, along the Shire river, by British troops.
