It is reported that the Mataura Mouth Gold Dredging Company’s bucket dredge, which was hired from the Hew River Harbor Board, and which has been engaged opening out, has now got on to good ground. The wharf carters and expressmen at Dunedin have formed a Union for the protection of their interests. This is the ninth Union formed there during the last six months, the total membership being about 2300. The attempt to float the barque Willie McLaren at Wellington has been abandoned, and it is understood that those interested in the patent used in connection with her intend having a try to raise the steamer IKoranui, wrecked near the French ! Pass some months ago.
