( London, Jan. 30. The Dock Co'jnpany are making arrangements for llhe introduction of a Bill next session, bjh which shipowners wjll be granted a n.ght to discharge their own cargoes, j Mr Norwood', estimates the Dock Companies’ lossj irom the strike at £40,000, apart/from diversion of trade. He fears the anlnual expense of labor will be increased hy £?150,000. Payment to laborers during meal time has virtually been conceded, except at Hay’s whaUf. Mr Norwood asserts that this fresh land frivolous dispute will do permanent injury to the port. Unless the laborers change their ways the Dock ownerih will have to regain control. \ \ Peb, 1. The National Miners’ *Union have resolved to favor a proposal for the assemblage of an international congress at Berlin towards May, anil at the same time rejected a proposition for the compulsory life insurance of Ihiners. Mr Norwood declare* that the Dock Companies are willing Ito sell the docks to the public at a fair priice, Ber/lin, Jan. 30.
