Boothrovd preached, in the morning on “ Prayer,” in the afternoon on “ Him that Overeometh Shall Inherit All Things,” showing that sin needed to be overcome to gain the promised reward, in the evening on “ Christ’s Ability to Save.” The congregations were not very large. On Monday one of the most sumptuous teas ever provided here was laid out, but very few came to partake of it. Ho doubt the busy season just commencing was the cause of this, the tea was provided by several ladies, and the bachelors of the congregation, and were ably presided over by Mrs E. Prattley and Misses Brogden (2) Uden, Woodley, Williams, and Ward A public meeting was held, and pr e ’ aided over by Mr Metson, who referred to some disappointments met with during the past 12 months, and urged on all to work harder m the future to wipe of the debt on the church. Mr J. B Epps gave an account of the financial position, which showed they had been able to meet all expenses and had a balance m hand. He expressed great regret that several speakers who had been invited were not present, and urged on all to lead a life of piety, which was the earnest way to promote the spiritual welfare of the church.
