Accompanying the gift is a collection of arms gathered on the battle fields of the Franco-German. war. Last year Algeria suffered greatly from swarms of locusts. The damage done by these insects is officially estimated at just a million sterling. The local Government has made energetic preparations to fight against this plague in future.
