THE LABOR REVOLT.
London, Jan. 8. Lord Dunraven speaking at Liverpoo', said that it was necessary that a labor department should be instituted. Legislation might then be undertaken for the purpose of shortening the hours. The London 1 unions propose to hold a convention for the purpose of discussing the system of sharing profits recently introduced by some largo employers of labor.
The dockers are showing resistance to the gas strikers, Money ha- been promised to block the coal supply, The commercial docks and chief shippers of London are backing (be permanent laborers union with a view to crushing the dockers, Mr Norwood has refused the demands of tho men for payment during the meal hour. The dockers unions of London' and Hull have quarrelled. Brussels, Jan. 7. The export of coal from Belgium has been stopped owing to the strike at Charleroi, Jan. 8. The Charleroi miners, who are out on strike, are becoming very excited, and have assumed a menacing attitude,
