CHRISTCHUfiOH STOCK MARKETS. At the Addington Yards on Mobday the eatries in all departments were heavy. Pat Cattle—There was a large entry of mostly inferior sorts. The sale was a dragging one, and a decline in values was again noticeable. Best beef Made - from 17s to 19s per 1001 b, and inferior fr©m 15s upwards.
Store Cattle—There was scarcely any inquiry, except for tke better aorta. A line of three-year-old Bteera made £4 15s, and others £4 Bs.
Pat Sheep —This class of sheep were again in good force. The quality, with but few exceptions, was poor, which caused a slight decline in values.
Best mutton may be quoted at a shade over 2id, and inferior from upwards. Pat Lambs—Another heavy entry yarded, mostly inferior sorts. Com--1 petition was weak, both buteherß and
freezers being well supplied. Best lambs made from 12a to 13s 3d, and inferior sorts from 7s 6d to lis. Pigs A small entry, consisting chiefly of inferior sorts. Prices were unaltered. WOOL SALE. At the wool sales of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Ageney
Company, in connection with Messrs Levin and Co., at Wellington, 1100 bales were offered, and about twothirds were sold. Pine crossbred was sought after, but coarse and inferior
were neglected. Jine brought as high ' as per lb, coarse patching from 8d to 9|d, and inferior from 6d to 7£d. AUSTRALIAN MARKETS. Sydney, Dec. 31, The wheat crop is expected to yield 18 bushels to the acre. Little business will be done uitil after the New Year. Wheat, ehick feed, 2s to 2o Od, local supplies; milling, 3s 6d. Plour, atone-made, .New Zealand, £8 10s. Oats, feeding, Is 9d; milling, 2s 2d. Maize, 3s 2d to 3s 3d. Barley, Cape,

Loudon, Dec. 29. The stock of coin and bullion in tho banks' coffers is lower than it has, | been since 1868, The rate of diar count will be increased to 6 per cent. lin January. Meanwhile three months'
bills are at 4 per cent. New Zealand stocks are unchanged. The English wheat market has an upward tendency; the continental ia steady; and the American unchanged.
