CHRISTMAS SINGING.

TO THE EDITOR. j ■■■ Sir, —Will you allow me space in v -"JB your columns for a few lines on a i subject that has very forcibly been presented to my notice this last week. It is re the singing in the English Church at Gferaldine on Christmas Day. As a good many of your readers are"aware, a number of persons, members of other choirs, were pressed into the service for that occasion, and of course their presence contributed in a great measure to the success of the singing. Now then I find, from conversation with some of those visiting singers, that they have had no notice taken of their services by any of the authorities since, and I think, and would like to draw the attention of the said authorities to the same thing, that when people do oblige them the least they can do is to acknowledge the obligation. Ido not mean making a great fuss about it, that is unnecessary, but a polite note expressing y« thanks —sent as soon as possible i the service on Christmas Day to/£hose who kindly lent their assisjag/nce to [ render the singing the decided success ; it was-—would have done/no one any harm, and possibly w4iuld have caused those persons to hAte been willing to have helped on another occasion, which, under existing circumstances, feeling slighted, one or more feels decidedly disinclined to do.—Tourß, truly, 1 CoTJBTESY. I Geraldine, Dec. 29,1889.
