THE LABOR REVOLT.
London, Dec. 17. * The Union upholds the laborers at the Surrey Commercial dock in refusing to handle coal intended for the Gas Company, but agrees to work with nonunion carmen if the Company will reinstate the docktnen who have been dismissed.
It is believed that tho strike of gasmen is collapsing. The dock laborers have agreed to work ships employing non-Union seamen. . Reynolds’ Newspaper and the Socialist press assert the strike balance-sheet is worthless, payment to Unions is monstrous, and half the money subscribed has been improperly diverted. Only £7OOO out of a balance of £12,000 has been accounted for.
Deo. 18.
The owners of the Victoria Docks have made satisfactory arrangements with the men on strike, and they have returned to work,
Gas is plentiful and coal is easily obtainable, The strikers are willing to give a month’s notice to admit the men who are engaged on condition of sharing the profits, to the Union. New York, Dec. 18.
A great strike of longshore men has taken place at tho National line docks against the employment of negroes,
