TEMUKA TOWN BOARD.
The regular monthly meeting of the above board was held last night. Present —Meeira Blyth, Coirs, and Clinch. Mr Blyth, in the nbaence of Mr Gray, was voted to the chair. COBKE.SPONDENOB. Correspond wss read— From Mr W. Sweet, aiking for information as to how his name came to appear upon the roll, as it had been placed there without his knowledge, and in const quenoe he declined to pay rates. He further drew attention to a cui'ance not removed from the adjoining premises,—The clerk was instructed to furnish necessary information re roll. No action was taken re nuisance. From Mr F. L Cron, covering cheque for £l2 8« 41 for rates. Prom Woolloombe & Clulee, agents for the Imperial Fire office, asking for information as to the provision made in case of fire, and how the fire brigade or salvage corps is supported, The clerk was instructed to furnish the fnformation required. ovbhsbeb’s bbpobt. The overseer made a brief verbal report, and in connection (herewith it was moved by Mr Ooiro, seconded by Mr Clinch, and carried—" That steps be taken to remove the roots itjarieg the asphalt, and that the overseer be authorised to procure sufficient shingle for repairing the crown of the Main Road.” It was also decided that he acquaint tho police with the dogs unregistered, and request them to take steps to have the law enforced. The clerk was instructed to interview the clerk of the Arowhenua Town Board prior to any such steps being taken, UNPAID BATES. An account of rales, etc., outstanding wa> submitted by tho clerk, ardjhe was instructed to take prompt steps for their recovery. ACCOUNTS. Accounts to the amount of £l9 6s 21 were pasted for payment. The meeting then terminated.
