The standing commission of the Anglican Church at Auckland met on Thursday to consider the question as to the election of Bishop Hadfield as Primate. Bishop Oowie, Sir Frederick Whitaker, and Mr C. Hesketh were present. The meeting adjourned until Monday, no decision bning arrived at. The firm of B. Tooks and Co., auctioneers, Auckland, established since 1865,, have filed a petition of insolvency. The liabilities aro estimated at £13,00®, but the assets of the business and the private estate will, if realised, yield more than this.
